Coronavirus (COVID-19) & Client Safety

With much of the country focused on the latest Coronavirus developments, you may be wondering if you should postpone or cancel treatment for alcohol or drug addiction until the crisis subsides.  According to the CDC, the risks of alcohol poisoning or a drug overdose far outweigh the risk of contracting Coronavirus. Opioid overdoses account for over 100 deaths in America every day, and alcohol remains the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States.

Overcoming addiction could make the difference between life and death, and there is no evidence that addiction treatment facilities are more likely to host Coronavirus outbreaks than any other place.

Extra Safety during the Coronavirus

Gracious Care Recovery Solutions is a DCF Licensed and Joint Commission Accredited treatment facility. The Joint Commission is the standard of excellence that sets the bar across the healthcare industry. In order to meet (and exceed) these standards of excellence, we regularly conduct quality control investigations to ensure all team members are practicing sound infection control practices.

Every new admission is properly assessed for the possibility of Coronavirus exposure and we have recently implemented facility-wide education as part of our admissions process. This education includes:

  • Information on how disease spreads
  • Infection control
  • Proper sanitizing techniques
  • Proper hand washing techniques
  • Refraining from food sharing
  • Coronavirus symptoms
  • Respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette
  • Reporting symptoms

Our employees are fully knowledgable of, and practice, the safety guidelines set forth by the CDC and the Department of Health. We believe that going the extra mile by educating our clients on all aspects of infection control will further ensure that our facility and housing remains a safe place for their recovery journey.

Extra Precautions

As an extra precaution, Gracious Care Recovery Solutions has temporarily restricted outside contact with large groups. We are holding in-house recovery meetings and attending online church services in our community room.

You can also be assured that our facility will remain fully staffed even with the recent school closings. Gracious Care Recovery Solutions is providing child care for the families of our staff so our team can focus on client care with the peace of mind that their children are in good hands.

We are proud of the efforts we put in place to ensure that this facility is always operating in excellence.

If you or someone you love is currently struggling with addiction, please consider Gracious Care Recovery Solutions.
